(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of Friday, 14 August 2026, at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center, His Excellency SAMHENG Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, presided over the opening of a discussion on “Strengthening Trade, Investment and Logistics Connectivity: Promoting Private Sector Development and Cambodian Products Diversification” organized in collaboration with Yorker Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd.

The discussion was attended by leaders and technical officials from the Ministry of Commerce; the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation; the Council for the Development of Cambodia; the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce; Cambodia Post; Cambodia Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association (TAFTAC); as well as representatives of the private sector, investors, businesspeople, and numerous distinguished guests.

The event was organized to bring together policymakers, private-sector representatives, operators, investors, and development partners involved in trade, investment, and logistics to exchange views and discuss opportunities and challenges, as well as to identify practical solutions and mechanisms to improve supply chain efficiency, facilitate trade flows, and enhance the efficiency of logistics services, with the aim of supporting market expansion and strengthening the competitiveness of Cambodian products.

To further strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of Cambodia’s trade sector, His Excellency Secretary of State put forward six key recommendations: (1) Strengthen public-private cooperation to improve policies, public services, and the business environment; (2) Enhance the quality of Cambodian products through improved packaging, standards, and the promotion and use of #MadeInCambodia products; (3) Promote the private sector and digital trade to expand markets and export opportunities; (4) Strengthen logistics and supply chains to reduce costs and improve efficiency; (5) Attract investment and international partnerships to promote processing, technology adoption, knowledge transfer, and value-chain integration; and (6) Promote product and market diversification by identifying priority products and markets, while strengthening cooperation mechanisms between the Royal Government and the private sector.
